Kakasaheb Kalelkar (Dattatreya Balkrishna Kalelkar, 1885–1981), a Gandhian thinker, wrote ‘હિમાલયનો પ્રવાસ’ and ‘સ્મરણયાત્રા’ and won the Sahitya Akademi Award.
સંસ્મરણ: જામફળ અને જલેબી – સરળ ભાષામાં
સાતારાથી અમે ઘણી વાર શાહપુર આવતા. એ દિવસોમાં રેલવે ન હતી, એટલે બળદગાડીમાં મુસાફરી થતી.
અમે ભાઈઓ – દત્તુ, કેશુ, ગોંદુ અને હું – રસ્તામાં ધમાલ કરતા. એક વાર જામફળની વાડીમાં ઘૂસ્યા અને એક વાર જલેબીની મજા માણી – પછી જે થયું તે હજી યાદ છે!
એ બાળપણનાં નિર્દોષ તોફાનો અને તેમાંથી મળેલા પાઠ આજે પણ મીઠાં લાગે છે.
