Lesson 6 at a glance
Purushottambhai returns to his village after twenty-five years abroad and can’t believe his eyes – the once-dry village is lush and green! His friend Savjibhai explains: it is the work of ‘સંસ્કાર’ – the new teacher’s son – who planted and cared for saplings every day, got villagers and schoolchildren to join, created a ‘નક્ષત્ર-વન’, and started new farming like dragon fruit. People who had left for cities are even coming back. (The title is a play on words: ‘સંસ્કાર’ means both his name and good values.)

About the lesson: A dialogue
The lesson is compiled by the textbook board as a conversation (સંવાદ) between two old friends.
