A ‘મને ગમતા શબ્દો’ strip at the foot of each page invites children to collect words they like, and QR codes link to audio and video.

How is Std 6 different from Std 6?

In Std 6 each lesson is a single piece – a poem, story, essay, play, biography or travelogue – by a named author, rather than units built around a song and a story.

Supplementary reading at the end of the book: ચાલ ફરીએ (Niranjan Bhagat), પૈડું (Nagindas Parekh) and પીળક (Pravin Sarvaiya).

Why is the book called પલાશ?

The palash (કેસૂડો) is the bright orange flower of spring in Gujarat – the cover shows palash blossoms.
